i tried feeling the air on the frontside but theres almost nothing coming thru. the IC is that tight
i planned for it to pull, but now i think this maybe more efficient - may work well with the mister on both sides

question for you, Edward....
While you were in there messing with the intercooler, did you take it out to check for leaks? Even when stock it's entirely possible to have a leaking endtank (we can thank Audi for putting plastic endtanks on a metal core), but now that you're running a k04 the chances are even greater. I haven't had the chance to pull mine and check it yet; either way I'll probably pull it soon and seal it (just to be sure) until I get a front mount. Since you're currently working on that part of the car it would be a good opportunity to check your IC. If you do get the chance to look at it I'd be interested in what you find.

coincidentally, i did 'check'...
i did wash the the bottom (IN-side) of the IC of some nasty shipping grease while the engine was running - no bubbling from leaks and no signs of age and wear, not bad for a 2.75 yrold weekend track car - although hoses are soft. we might work on an FMIC install soon(1-2wks), so i will possibly order & replace everything I can - thanks for bringing that up =)
