Didn't you cut and extend your MAF wires? I Did this for new intake I built. MAF keeps tweaking out and throwing MAF signal voltage is too low.
If I remember right you kept frying out MAF's, you figured it out?

Yep, I cut and extended my wires.....
I got those same errors when my MAF died.
Use an ohmmeter and check the resistance from the ECU plug to the MAF plug. Also check to make sure you're getting 12V to the MAF.
I checked all that, and finally ended up pulling the cover off the back of the ECU plug, and measuring the voltage of the MAF when the car was at idle. Mine said 0 volts. I don't remember the exact voltage of a good MAF, but I'm guessing it should be between 0.5V and 1.0V
The Bentley manual has the pinouts for all the wires.
My original MAF had 90,000 miles on it, and just couldn't take being maxed out.
I'm guessing that we're still at risk of blowing out MAFs, even new ones, they just can't handle being maxed out.
I've got a good idea on an aftermarket MAF, one that should be able to handle being maxed out (lifetime warranty and reprogrammable) but don't have the $$$ right now to persue it.

On a 1.8T, yes, I think it's worth it....
especially with a stock IC.
As for NA, I don't think it would be beneficial unless you have detonation problems, or a way to advance the timing to take advantage of the cooling effect.

I cut and extended my MAF wires as well...
just to reduce strain on them...one wire snapped off the connector.
My MAF had fried from that stress and vibration...darn if they aren't pathetically fragile.
Cheers,
Sameer
