Default BG-E2 Battery grip question...

Im almost 100% positive im picking one of these up soon. I dont really need the extra juice from the batts...but i mostly shoot in portrait, and my hands are huge and the XTi is a notoriously small body.

My question: MUST i run two batteries? I know it comes with the AA tray...but can i only run 1 NB2LH?

Default Oddly the guy im picking it up from said it IS actually a BG-E2...but he has it fitted to his

Rebel XT, and wanted to sell as a kit, but would part with just grip. (on that note..anyone want an XT body for cheap?) I didnt think there was a way...so i feel he's mistaken on some part. Maybe it is a 3rd party unit? But i didnt see any 3rd party units with that model either...

Either way, he said he would be willing to bring it by my place and let me fit it to test all is working fine before sale.

Default I don't see how that's possible, since the bodies use different batteries...

in different orientations... You sure it's not a 300D Rebel? The BG-E2 won't fit on that either, I've tried. They just don't line up.

Default Absolutely.. I've never shot without a grip on my SLRs..

In the film days, when they were actually power winders, I loved them. Then when the mfgs started making their own built in power winders, I stopped using grips, and hated how small the camera felt..
