Default do 5D mk2's require different remotes?

i tried to use my wireless remote on my 5d2 last night. to my surprise it didn't work! is there a reason why it wouldn't work?

the remote i have is exactly like <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/Wireless-Remote-Shutter-Release-for-Canon-40D-5D-1D-30D_W0QQitemZ370120373620QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCamera _Camcorder_Remotes?hash=item370120373620&_trksid=p 3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A4%7C65%3A12 %7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3 A200">this one</a>

Default Should work

I don't have the ebay release, but since it plugs in via a cable to the camera (with receiver attached), it should not matter - for the camera, it's just another cable release.

All the releases that I have for my other cameras - wired or wireless - work fine with my 5D2.
