Default First time out with some actual reach and L glass. Thanks to Rob O!

First off big thanks to Rob O. for a smooth deal on a nice piece of glass. No fuss, no drama. Seriously nice guy. 2 thumbs up.

So the (new to me) glass is the 70-200 F4 L (non IS)

I only had about 15 minutes to try it out, so nothing special here. The lighting was also pretty harsh. I experimented just a little, shooting wide open quite a bit.

I did however learn why IS is important though because holding steady at 200mm is a little tricky (working with cold hands doesnt help) but you get the hang of it soon. I love the weight of this one though

I included 3 of my favorites.

Default Congrats... the 70-200 f4 is a great lens. My copy was super-sharp.

It looks like yours is too. Enjoy.

I've got the IS version and it's definitely nice to have. Great shots!

Default My 2 cents...

Pic 1 is perfect!! DOF is dead on, might have used the 3rd rule here... Naaaa! Is Good!

Pic 2 is OK... here I would have framed it better and not cut off the bottom of the plaque.

Pic 3... It needs a slight rotation to the right and the tree limb, foreground DOF looks a little funky here... That's just me tho!!

Default thanks!

I love feedback... especially when some of it is positive! : )

Agreed on 2 and 3, but I was basically goofing around.

I look forward to your thoughts when I give it an honest go.

Thanks
