Default So here are the sunrise pictures....

The reward for waking up at 5:25 am to take pictures of the sunrise....

Racing a $500,000 Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster down the road!

All pictures were shot with the following settings...
ISO 100
Aperture f22
White Balance Shade
Exposure 5-25 seconds

I'm pretty satisfied with the pictures. I wish it wasn't cloudy and I could have actually captured the sun rising on the horizon, but there is always a next time!

I also didn't realize until I got home that my tripod was not perfectly level in the sand, so the horizon is not level in the pictures. I will probably make some background images and print my favorites, so I'll definitely have to correct that in Photoshop.

I'm still in bed:P glad someone was out taking photos this morning though. no need to shoot at f22 if you dont need to, your images may loose some sharpness shooting that narrow. If you were just trying to slow the shutter try an ND grad filter or a polarizer if you dont have one already. Nice photo.

Default It's a nice first try - I just woke up =-)

A few comments:

Quite a number of those are underexposed - some mainly due to simply not enough light present, others b/c you stuck to one setting and left it there.

Even the good ones go out to a shoot with an idea of around where they need to be, but always have to adjust for the given lighting circumstances; I wouldn't expect a sunrise shot to be shot any differently.

Now that you know this, the next time out would be more successful! (I'm making the assumption you understand what each different manual control is - aperture, ISO, shutter speed, etc)

Lastly, did you shoot in RAW?
