We've noticed a squeek in the morning when driving out of a parking garage with our low mileage 2017 Q3 w/ 13k miles. At first I thought someone else's brakes were squeeky, but I rolled down the windows and heard it loudly today when nobody else was around to make noise. This happened without touching the brake pedal and got louder with brake action. I couldn't tell if it was more from the front or rear. A few miles later after the car was warm and there had been a few brake applications in traffic, I tried pulling through another parking garage with my windows down, and I no longer hear any squeek at low speeds or while braking. I expect it will return on the next cold start.

I understand that brake discs can get corroded over night but I can't understand why it squeeks when I do not touch the brake pedal. Does anybody know whether the ABS or quattro system lightly drags the brakes after first starting the car for the day?

This problem kept happening for a few weeks. I talked to my dealer and they thought it was corrosion from the described symptoms. I also found more similar reports for other higher volume makes/models that closely matched my experience. In the last week or so, we finally had a switch from humid sea air to dry desert air for several nights, and the problem did not reappear the morning after those nights. So, I think that seems to reinforce the idea that it is corrosion forming as the car rests.

I guess the resting gap between the pads and rotors must be getting much smaller than it was on older cars, in order to have corrosion cause squeeking without brake application...

I live in Houston, Tx, it is quite common for brakes to squeak in the morning due to humidity.
