I know it's an apples to oranges comparison, but would you rather have a new leased Q3 (3-year lease) or buy a used 2013 A6 (3.0T premium plus quattro 26k miles very clean and would be bought off my own lease)? I'm splitting one or the other with my son as a college graduation gift. He doesn't "need" an SUV (but ride height is nice in city traffic) and he doesn't "need" a fast-ish luxury sedan (but, even used, it's a pretty nice car).

The choice is part which car is better and part whether it's better to get into a lease cycle vs buying but keeping for longer.
