Default No key located message

I have a 2018 USA Audi Q3 . When it was one week old, I was on a long drive and stopped for food.
When I came out of the restaurant, I unlocked the door, got in and when I pressed the brake pedal and pressed the start button, the car would not turn over and a message appeared saying that it could not locate a key.
I called the dealership and was told to put the key next to the oval symbol under the windshield wiper handle. I did and the car started. My question is why did this happen and is there a software fix. I was told that the car computer sometimes forgets the key code.

If this occurred just one time and hasn't happened again, it's nothing to worry about. There are various anomalies you will find with the Audi software from time to time. All part of the Audi experience.

I took the car to the dealer and they found that the key battery was very weak so they replaced it. Easy fix.

I always have new batteries @ home & in the car. Buy on Amazon for .40.

That's a great idea. I figured, since it was a new car and the battery was only 2 weeks old, they could replace it since I was there for other things.
