Q3 Battery Replacement
Hi everyone,
I have a 2015 Q3 Premium Plus. Odometer is 60,000. I did an inspection to it and it came out that the battery is going to need a replacement.
I would like some tips of what battery to buy (cheap) maybe at Walmart and if it's possible to make a replacement on any shop or does it have to be a more special procedure.
Thanks.

wow that's a lot of mileage for year of ownership.
are you planning on selling it?
because with a cheap battery is what youll be getting. the quality will go down and so will its life span when given harsh environments.
example I bought a high end battery which has a 5 year warranty. it lasted 8 years.
I also had a cheap battery which had a 3 year warranty. it lasted 2 years.
so to answer your question, you can buy one from a local kragen/orielly autoparts store or Walmart. just make sure its the same size. they will ask what your car is and they will guide you to the right size. you will need to install it yourself. its very straight forward.

stealing the thread, these are my comments and questions
So I went to the stealership for the last free service (60,000 km) 2014 Q3
After I went and pick up the Q3, they told me that the battery needs replacement soon.
The quote is $300 for the OEM battery
I quoted a couple of other places including Autozone and the quote is about $60 bucks
They told me the difference is the capacity of the battery for the Start/Stop function
Do any of you know something about it? Would it be bad to save some money and buy the "normal" battery?
TBH, I don't use the Start/Stop function. It's not even working now that the battery is near dead.
Please share your knowledge and advise.
Thanks

Re Stop-Start Don't have it on my 2017 Q3. Don't miss it.
Just buy a cheaper battery with the same specs.

In colder climates we're always concerned with ample "cold cranking amps" to overcome more viscous fluids in Winter. But if in a warmer climate and not intending to use all the electronics (incl. auto start/stop; which I wouldn't use either) then you can get away with a less expensive/lower capacity battery.
But also note that it is the heat of summer that actually takes its degradation toll on batteries and subsequently plays out in lower performance in winter. So, you get what you pay for ....
