Q5 water pump failure
#3
Message came up and said "turn off engine. Coolant low". Drove 1/2 mile home and checked the reservoir. It was empty. Called dealership and then said fill it up with water and drive it to dealership.

2013 Q5 2.0T, 52,000 miles – initially got the warning light low coolant in reservoir, topped off with water, leaking persisted and increased over the next few months. Diagnosis with pressure test was coolant leaking from water pump (black plastic housing) and replaced water pump (part # 06H121026DD), charged 4.5 hrs labor but it actually to over 6 hrs. Repair cost $982, includes 5% first time customer discount asked for at time of pickup. (other quotes bet. $1000-$1300, and some might charge separate diagnostic fee $90-$180)
