Default Windshield replacement

Do you recommend replacing the windshield with OEM or aftermarket? Does it matter? I just looked up the price on safelite, and one question was if the windshield wiper speed adjust based on the rain or something. Would aftermarket affect it? I personally prefer OEM, but I'm sure it's very expensive.

If you do not have the oem windshield it could reduce your trade value on another Audi. CPO used cars are supposed to be all original.

I made an appointment with my audi dealer for replacement. OEM windshield, sensor gel (???), tax, and labour is almost $1600.

My deductible is $750, so I'm paying 50% of the bill already. Anyone know if the replacement is the one with the audi logo stamped on it. I read somewhere that some dealers use one that meet the specs as the OEM version.

When my A5 needed a replacement windshield the Audi dealership used a non-Audi logo'd but presumably same spec'd. It didn't effect trade-in as Audi installed.

My state insurance also covers replacement (one per year).

FWIW, the OEM windshield uses acoustic glass. I'm sure that increases the cost.
