Sun Visor Clip Disintegrated
Hey all - 2011 Q5 - my driver side clip for the sun visor spontaneously combusted. Wasn't being rough with it...plastic just snapped. Anyone have any idea how to replace this and where I could order a replacement part for cheap?
Thanks in advance!!

I believe that the outer cover just comes off with some careful prying/pulling, and then the rest of it just pulls out easily or exposes a screw holding it in. I haven't done one in those but it looks the same as other Audi cars.

Mine replaced free of charge too -- they're made to break away as a safety precaution, when I broke mine I was like, "why aren't these metal?!??". It makes sense I guess, I'm more careful with them now.

Thanks much ELEVENS and all. Ill drop it by the dealer and see what they can do for me.
Thanks Redd ill be sure to MS paint some fire and ashes next time. I was referring more to the without obvious cause than the flames...but again much appreciated.

It is just a lump of "cast" plastic, probably injection molded. If there's a little dirt, or the mold isn't heated and cooled properly, all kinds of reasons why that stuff just develops cracks and then "explodes" when any stress is put on it.
Ask them to replace it with a proper billet-carved titanium fitting instead. (G)
