Default '12 Q5 Brake Booster Replacement Cost

Brakes had been getting very difficult to press at slow speeds. Took it into the dealer for a check - they came back with it needing a new brake booster. Quoted me roughly $1700, before tax. My question is - is this an outrageous price for this repair? I have looked up the part and its no more than $300. Is there really that much labor involved with this repair, or is this just typical Audi dealer cost? I should note that I usually dealt with an independent repair shop, but recently moved and really don't have any idea where else to take my car, except the dealer. Thanks!

Given my experience with my local dealer I'd use Yelp and any other referral source I could utilize to find a good, local shop. My dealer said I needed $6K of work done, while the local independent said "what are they smoking?" and replaced just the front pads and rotors.
