The big difference is Acceptable Alternative Tires http://www.michelinman.com/tire-sele...0Option)/tires Maybe Audi in cooperation with Michelin put tires Pilot SS on Q5 in the factory that the tires made for SUV/Crossover Good luck with your choice of tires BTW, I'm not actually looking for tires yet. |
What do you guys think of http://www.achillestires.com/
I was just suffering and came across them and alot of people said good things to say about it (they admit that they haven't tried it out on snow but for me that's not important as I live in South Carolina...heavy snow is least of my worries for now) |
These are highly recommended by other SUV owners. Yoko Parada Spec-X
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....dClar=S%20line Keep in mind when searching for tire reviews, some tires may have raving reviews for cars but when the same tires is installed on a SUV the reviews may be different. But for a summer only tire, the Michelin Latitude Sport is an awesome tire. Those came stock on my S-Line. |
I see 11 tires at Tirerack for a 2013 Q5 3.0T with 255/45R20 that are not Winter tires, and are less than $200/ea. That's where I'd start looking personally. Then depending what sort of seasons you have, or when these tires will be on the car, decide between variations of all season to summers.
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSe...ting=S&tab=All I'd be very tempted by the Kumho 4X for $147/ea before $50 rebate. I have the ASX on my A3 and would consider those again (though I note they are on closeout). I don't know details, but would also look into the Parada Spec-X, BFG g-Force and Ventus V12. |
