2010 Q5's "matte wood" inlays

Quick question: has anybody seen in-person the new (in 2010) "matte wood" option for the Q5's interior? We're considering placing an order now, and this is the one option we haven't been able to view in person.... curious to hear what others think, as the photos on audiusa's 'build your Q5' aren't that helpful.

Hey,

By "matte wood" I'm guessing you mean the Natural Ash Brown inlays as opposed to the Walnut Natural inlays. I suppose it depends on what interior color you go for. Personally, I prefer the Natural Ash Brown as it doesn't have that glossy finish which I don't like. I've got the Cinammon Brown Interior with Black Exterior.

Hope this helps as images/pics are very hard to come by on the web.

Cheers

I have seen them, and was not impressed actually. I had higher hopes for the look. They still seemed unnatural to me in some way - too simulated or something; har to exactly describe, but its all personal taste.

I think I would have gone glossy on mine if I had not gone with an S-line that has aluminum.

I would go with the dark wood or "walnut" trim. I think it compliments the black interior very well. It looks very classy and I like it cause it blends in.

It looks pretty good in that picture.

Wow, it looks even better with the cinnamon interior.

Yeah, I agree!

Does Anyone know if this particular wood is more prone to scratches, or dings versus the gloss wood? I just ordered a Q5 and the dealer wants to know the wood option. We have a 1 month old who will be a regular passanger and if this wood scratches easily it defenitely won't be "kid friendly".
