Default 2011 Q5 Engine oil alert

I have a 2011 Q5 2.0T purchased back in October. The engine oil light came on the other day saying I'm at the min mark.

I was going to go get more oil yesterday but when I turned on the car the warning turned on. Hasn't come back on since.

Not sure what to do. Sometimes I don't trust how these newer cars are purely electronic. Should I add more oil?

Do you want to check the oil level via the MMI? Get a 2nd opinion?

I realized my post was confusing.

The warning turned OFF yesterday. (not on). So that's why I'm confused. I don't know whether the car needs oil or not.

The vehicle only has 11k miles.

it may be right on the verge of needing oil. Check via the MMI display.

I would bring it to the dealer and tell them your low oil warning light came on and now its off. Ask them to check the oil level manually with a dip stick and add oil if necessary. In the future, you can buy a dip stick so you can double check against the electronic oil level sensor.

I bought a dipstick for my 3.2 to avoid that, I would rather see it anyway with my eyes.

17 bucks well spent

Where can we buy a dipstick for the 2.0T?

Geronimo, ECS Tuning sells the dipstick. Or, you can grab the part number and get it from your local dealer.
