Hi, I am totally new to the german vehicles. I was a master mechanic but I didnt really come into many of them. Ive been out of the repair game for 8 years. So i bought and totally fell in love with the Audi. After 2 weeks it threw the lean code. Removed the oil cap and the engine almost sucked me in. I replaced the oil seporator and im still throwing the same code. This made me dig deep on the history and started calling shops from the invoices on the timing chain replacement. So he said was just a timing chain fix but the shop I called said the replaced valves and a piston. Another dishonest slimeball. I did not realize the problems people were having with these cars. What a mess. So I dont have much knowledge on turbos especially the newer german turbos. What should my next plan of attack be?

No other codes? Just "System to lean"?
I assume 2.0T. I would think O2 sensor or MAF. Then injectors and fuel pump. However all of those things should throw other codes as well.
I also found this on Ross-Tech site.
"When found in the NAR 2.0T (BPY) check RVUTB: 01-09-03 or 2018919 for updated Crankcase Breather Valve"
"If the breather valve is faulty, full engine vacuum is typically found when removing the oil cap at idle."

It is the 2.0T. The only code is the lean code. I did replace the oil seporator which has the same numbers and letters on it as the one I replaced. Im guessing this is a service bulletin or a recall how do i find info on this? <check RVUTB: 01-09-03 or 2018919 for updated Crankcase Breather Valve>
I'm also not sure what those number codes mean from ross-tech either...they don't look familiar. sorry

Finally p03030 popped up and found a bad spark plug. Go figure. Dont understand why it took so long to pop up unless i was hit with problem after problem. When I removed the spark plug to sawp them to confirm I did not notice and hair line cracks but im getting old lol. Spark plug must be old and fragile and went out when I pulled the coild to replace PCV.
