2011 Q5 Timing Chain

My wife's 2011 Audi Q5 would not start. We took it to our mechanic who informed us that he believes the tensioner on the timing chain needs to be replaced. It is not something that his shop does because of the Audi-specific required tools. There are a couple of German import repair shops locally as well as an Audi dealership. I intend to call around tomorrow for estimates, but wonder what a reasonable price for parts and labor should run.

How many miles on the Q5?

There is a an Audi extended warranty for this problem on certain 2011 Q5's, if indeed it is the tensioner and still covered by Audi go to the dealer. When the tensioner goes the valves usually hit the pistons. This results in a repair cost of approximately $7K at a dealer, less at a good indy German shop, if not covered under the extended warranty.
