My favorite type of car issue. The intermittent one. This start yesterday while driving mostly highway. Only happened twice but it was a thud noise. Almost sounded like it was toward the back but second time toward the front. I checked the tsbs and didn't see anything related. The car needs tires but I've never heard this before and I'm not about to bring it to Audi just yet. Especially with an Intermittent issue. Doesn't sound like a wheel bearing.

Anyone run Into this before ? This is a 2012 Q5 2.0 55k miles .

Possibly worn bushings/ball joints. You can test by raising the car so the wheels are off the ground, visually looking at each bushing for the obvious and by using a lever/pry bar to flex at each bushing/ball joint to detect an abnormal amount of play.
