2012 - heated seat
Hi,
i was wondering, I have a Q5'12 and my wife has an A4'15. I borrowed her car the other day and noticed when i turned on the heated seat it also heats the back, not just bottom (the buns) while my Q5 only does bottom.
Is really the case or my seats are broken? i never realized it until i used her car.
thanks

On my '12 seat heating was very weak til I got the TSB done. Rarely go above 4 now whereas before it was hardly noticeable even at 6. Seat back is def heated on mine.

The TPI 2028198/3 is only applicable for the Q5 MY 2012 as the leather seats have been changed and the temperature sensors therefore react "more sensitively". Whether the software update also work for other Audis of the B8 series or previous Q5 years is questionable
SVM code 09A006, Software updates control unit to version 0410.
It was tried though and it causes a problem with th A/C (it does not work). Then you have to change the following settings to correct issue:
For MY <2011, it is still necessary to set byte 20, bit 1 in the vehicle network, otherwise the air-conditioning compressor is no longer connected ..
(from german forums they say it works but with this programming change)
So be careful.

It is the only SVM/TPI to fix this issue I know of. I dont have more info about regions but my best guess is ALL. For MY 2009 Audi Q5 I updated to firmware 0380. Due to not having heated seats I stopped updating. I always used Audi Dealer for updating my Q5 with these SVMs. I can't afford for something to go wrong. I also used ERWIN database from where I got 60% of my SVM/TPIs. the other 40% (which I could not find in ERWIN database) I got from German forums and specifically from A4 A5 Cars which belong to the same category as Q5 (B8). All updates were successful.

I dont think the update depends on a specific vin number range directly. Rather it depends on the existing firmware number of the control module. I believe a control module with existing firmware 0380 can be updated but not below this value.
