I bought my wife in 2012 a brand new Q5 3.2 S-Line. She loves the car and we have had zero problems with the vehicle over 60k miles. To make a long story short, she wrecked the car and my dumbass removed the full coverage 2 weeks prior. I have been rebuilding the car from the rad support forward ( rad support, cooling fan assembly, radiator, ac condenser, power steering cooler, etc.) I was able to save one of the headlights but as far as the bumper and grille... not a chance in hell. Now i have been trying to find a front bumper for this damn car for about a week now, actually the only thing holding me back right now. I have seen several people who have converted front and rear bumpers from non S-Line to S-Line but I however am trying to go vice versa. I contacted the dealership and they wanted 3500 for a non painted, front bumper plus another 1500 for the grill. I have found several non s-line bumper anywhere from 60- 400 and i can get a aftermarket non s-line grill for 100. I'm no mathematician, but I think I would be on the better side of this rebuild if it was possible to convert the front end to a non s-line bumper. I was just curious if anyone has considered/ achieved this task and thanks for any help in advance.
