2013 2.0 'clicking sound' near headlight switch
 

I thought I had read somewhere in an old post about this, but can't find it. My 2013 Q5 2.0T has a really annoying clicking sound that comes from what appears to be the headlight switch (or near it). It 'clicks' about 3-5 times for the first few minutes of driving after starting up. Anyone heard of this or experienced it? Any cause/fix? thanks!

I hate posts like this.The noise is probably there but i never noticed it. now im going to hear it everytime I get in the car! :).
Someone mentioned the glare from chrome trim around drivers vent reflecting in rear view mirror. Never noticed it. Now it annoys me! Oh well . Still love the boards!

It's normal. Mine does that too.

Bye the way I now notice the clicking everytime I get in the car... So to just confirm it seems to be " normal".

Finally an advantage to being slightly hard of hearing.

Then there is anothe one for poor eye site-can't see dings, and that glare from chrome trim around drivers vent reflecting in rear view mirror...

I noticed it right away when I got the Q5. It sounds very much like the rear defroster shutting off did in my A3.

But now that I've had the car for a while, I rarely notice anymore :)

Just wondering if anyone ever found a fix for this problem? My new SQ5 does this and it's driving me mad!

mine 2013 2.0t q5 does that as well...i think it may have been related to the cold weather....i have found that if i turn on my defroster to the max with 23.5C, it does that....i think it may have been plastic expanding cause of the hot air blowing out thru the vent...
