New for 2013 are Front Calipers (Brembo), front brake pads, front heat sheilds.
You cannot use 2011-12 front brake pads on 2013 brakes. They are different.
You do not need to change anything in the parking brake.

Do you happen to know if they are using different pads on the rear for the 2013 models? There is practically no dust, front or rear on mine after about 500mi. On my 2011, the fronts got really nasty in just a few days, the rears were a little better but nothing like what I'm seeing now. A very pleasant surprise! It seems like they might have gone with some low dust pads on the rear as well?
Thanks,
Thanks,
- 8K0698451B you use the following models: 2013 A4, Avant, S4 , A5-S5 cabriolet 2010-2013, A5-S5 coupe 2012-2013 and Q5 2013
- 8K0698451C only Q5 2009-2013

Parsec,
If you are just looking for less dust and you don't want to spend the $ on new calipers, I have a brand new unused set (front & rear) of POSI-Quiet semi-metallic pads that came with my AR rotors.
I won't be using them as I went to the new front brakes, and decided to go back to the stock OEM rear pads to bed them in to the new rotors, as these will be what I keep on the car from now on.
If interested let me know.

I just ordered a new set of rears, assuming they were the same
Mechanical Catalog - 2011 - Audi - Q5
Partnumber: 8K0698451A
brakes, brake components, rear pads Q5 Rear Solid Rotor
So if the new ones (B & C), are less dust than these (A) which are listed for the 2011 Q5 rear, and they are exactly the same otherwise, then why would they continue to produce the same size pads that have more dust?
I can't imagine they would. They would all be the same pad material I would think.

These are what is listed on the Audi system for 2011 Q5:
2011 - AUDI - Q5 PREMIUM - CAEB - L4 - 2.0L - GAS
BRAKES / BRAKE COMPONENTS / BRAKE COMPONENTS / REAR PADS
8K0698451A - REAR PADS Q5; Rear Solid Rotor
2011 - AUDI - Q5 PREMIUM - CAEB - L4 - 2.0L - GAS
REAR SUSPENSION / REAR SUSPENSION / BRAKE COMPONENTS / Brake pads
8K0698451A - Brake pads 300X12MM, to 11/8/10
2011 - AUDI - Q5 PREMIUM - CAEB - L4 - 2.0L - GAS
REAR SUSPENSION / REAR SUSPENSION / BRAKE COMPONENTS / Brake pads
8K0698451C - Brake pads 300X12MM, from 11/9/10
Does that mean they still produce the pads with more brake dust for models up to Aug 8, 2011 ..... and then produce different less dust pads for models from Sept 9, 2011 on?
Why would they still produce old pad material? Are the rear calipers not the same?
I took delivery of my Q5 in June 2011. I look up my Q5 in the system and it gives me the (A) rear pad choice.
Should I swap out for the (C) pads? The order hasn't shipped yet.

And model 8K0-698-451B

ThunderDent: I may be interested in your pads after I read up on them this weekend. Are OEM pads also semi-metallic? I'd like some pads that are similar material to the OEM pads. I know I don't want ceramic because they are too rough on the OEM rotors which are soft.
EDIT: I'm asking mainly because I'd have to clean off all the old pad material from my rotors if the material on the new pads are different. Thanks.

Apparently there's another rear pad for 2013. Just looked at mine and they are made by Galfer, P/N 8135FF JT5/IT.
Audi P/N 8K0-615-415K. I'm guessing they are low dust, the wheels are clean after 560 mi. I tried to find some info on Galfer pads and everything seems to be for motorcycles or ATVs. Maybe they make them for cars in Europe?
