Is the root fault the the A/C pressure sensor? That's what it looks like to me. I'll have to get it into a shop for a fix, but I'd appreciate a second + opinion.

Yes I agree that the "A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor (G395)" is the likely culprit. They've been failing since the early 2000's.You'd think those Germans could have sorted out their supplier by now ! Fortunately they're inexpensive and easy to replace.Audi is smart enough to have a "one way" valve so you can remove the sensor without having to evacuate the Ac gas.

Murray-
"You'd think those Germans could have sorted out their supplier by now !"
What, you're trying to reinforce the stereotype of Great White North Hosers, who only sit around drinking beer between hockey games?
I think those Germans got it sorted out long ago, and are intentionally using the cheapest source of parts, knowing they WILL fail outside of the warranty period. Which is a good thing, excellent choice for them, since it generates service profits.
Fifty years down the line, and everyone is still playing catch-up to ACDelco. (G)
Although, Honda took some great steps up by 1985, but they still couldn't copy the patented crotch-blower vents borrowed from NASA research.

Geez Redd don't be so sceptical. The Germans care about us.Best long term run I saw of inferior parts was Ford fuel pumps.Must have gone on 20 years. Many applications didn't provide an access port so the tank had to be dropped.
Our beer's still good but you Yanks have stolen hockey from us.Now I'm off to collect some maple syrup !

Skeptical? No no, I'm not skeptical. I'm certain that some outstanding German accountants have done their job: Boosting short-term profits.
Now, if you take a company like Benelli...I think they started as a family business literally a thousand years ago. Rumour is they are in it for the long run, not for this quarter's or even this year's profits.
Same as LLBean. The late chairman once said that even if they bend over backwards to fill the most ludicrous warranty claim...it is cheaper than the acquisition cost of a new customer. They way the lifetime (40+ years) profits from a customer against the cost of servicing that customer. Sadly, I understand some warranty/returns may be cut to one full year now, after too much simple abuse.
The free 50-cent replacement for my sunvisor clip was nice...but not quite in the "Aces" league.(G)
