Well mine is peeling bad. I am sure at 59k I am out warranty on my 2015 Q5. I did purchase one but sadly there must be a difference between the TDI and nonTDI model since it won't fit. Any one need one? I have the TDI Model.

Is the vinyl easy to do? Just want it to look nice and I don't know if spray paint or plasti dip will be strong enough to withstand the road debris. Any tips would be great.

Thanks
Thom from Kansas City, Mo.

The plasti dip will peeling of, it can't whitstand the road debris on the front grille. The 3M foil is the exact foil wich it used to wrap cars. In additipon this foil has some "scratch regeneration" feature what can be activated with a heat gun, in this way the minor scratches can be removed easily. I never has to do this because i don't need it.

Since I have never vinyled anything. Is it easy? There is a lot of tight spaces where it meets the grill. Don’t want it to look like a child put it on.

Does anyone have the actual part number for the peeling part on a 2015 TDI? I was looking last night and can't seem to find it. Also still have one of the ones that may fit the gas versions if anyone needs it.

Thanks
Thom

The part number depends of many things, like the SLine version, SQS version, year, engine, model type. Please check the below site or ask your local dealer, it's just a phone call and they will know from your VIN number the exact part number.

Anyone know if there's a technical service bulletin or other guidance for service departments we can cite? Spouse taking car in for service tomorrow and I'd like to give her something to ask for specifically (expecting the usual objection to warranty repair).

Were you in or out of warranty?
