Wow...that peeling is pretty bad. The dealer should definitely warranty that for you! I had the same thing happen TWICE on that same part on my 2009 S-Line grill. The fortunate side is, it was replaced free of charge both times (and the last replacement isn't showing any signs of peeling again...yet). The unfortunate side is that it seems as though Audi has had this problem all along (from 2009 to present?). Really shouldn't happen on ANY car, let alone a car of this class and caliber :/

Seems like you'd be better served by peeling it off entirely then applying some PlastiDip. (and I HATE PlastiDip!)

So an update after being away for a very long time from the boards. We went in a couple of days after it happened in my first post, and they swapped it out immediately. What happened with ours was the same as what happened in the picture in this thread. Since that point, it has not happened again... Fingers crossed.

I had exactly the same problem on my 2013 Q5 after having it 3 months! I did take it into the dealership and they replaced the grille with no questions asked.

This just happened on my Wife's one month old 2014 Q5. She was so upset and when she brought it to the dealer the service department told her she had to order the part and pay for it. WTF? I told her to go back (I can't because I'm at work) and tell the salesman. IF they don't replace it I will be canceling my 2014 S6 order promptly and going to another dealership. I'm hoping this is simply an ignorant service guy issue and not a flat out refusal for warranty repair.

Just discovered peeling on my one-month old 2014... so apparently Audi has not gotten to the root of the problem yet. It has started peeling around one of the sensors. Mine is the "no license plate holder" version but it also has a gloss black finish.

I called the dealership and then when my wife went back the GM took her right back and the replaced the piece on the spot. Hopefully the new one doesn't peel also. You would think they would have figured this out by now.

Grille peel
Ack.. yep, seems to be a problem. At just under 1 year (9K miles) on my 2013 Q5 3.0T I have also noticed the finish on my front grille is starting to peel adjacent to the parking sensor. Photo attached. Just contacted the dealer and waiting to hear back from them.
