And my dealer is confirming they have no production date for the Q5 yet
I'm guessing that's a 3.0T too?

2013 Q5 2.0T (US)

Actual Production Week: 10/22/2012
Order Entry: 09/03/2012

I do not have all the details but I do have a commission number (if someone can look it up). The dealer was able to get one of his allotments changed to my order. (so he says) Scheduled to start being built October 22th.

2.0 P+ Scuba Blue, Beige Interior, Navigation, Advanced Key ($1000 under MSRP, $187 Doc Fee)

Hmm, if the dealer changed a previously allotted car, shouldn't the order entry date be earlier than yesterday? In any case, congratulations, it looks like you'll get your car sooner than me! Looks like we have the same configuration except for the exterior color. I was (actually still am) conflicted between Scuba Blue and Monsoon Gray and ended up going for the safer choice

I actually don't have the whole print out from the commission number, I just put my ordered date. Not sure when the dealer put the original order in. I think it was just last week.

Our salesman put in our order July 31st (2.0T Prem + Canada) and the order status shows as I.S. Order bank (05). At that time our salesman figured we would likely receive our vehicle late October/early November.

Today when I inquired about the status of our order he indicated no VIN as of yet, the vehicle is in production, and to expect delivery in the first few weeks of December.

Patience is not one of my strong points.

Did he give you a detailed status report? You should ask for one - at the very least, confirm what he means by 'in production'. If it just means it's in Factory Order bank, at least you'll have some ETAs or assigned production dates to know what's going on rather than just what the dealer verbally told you...

No I didn't receive a detailed status report. He just gave me this info in an email. I will have to ask for further info, because I am at a loss for how I went from getting my vehicle in late October/early November to now supposedly getting it in mid-December.

So my salesman provided me with further details.

Requested, assigned, and actual production weeks all read 40/2012 or 10/01/2012.

Order status shows as factory order bank (10) and changes are still possible with the configuration.

The rest of the dates are all ETA's. Ship loaded 10/25/2012, port arrived 11/05/2012, release to carrier 11/12/2012, rail unload 12/03/2012, and dealer delivered week of 12/17/2012. I live in BC so there is longer transit time.

A nice Xmas gift.
