Changes I see ...

Exterior
----------
*New Wheels- I like
*Looks like Non-S-line's will get upgraded bling filled grilles now
*Upgraded LED headlights (look a bit smaller)
*New non-S-line fog-grilles with chrome ring now. Still flat black plastic
*Small redesign on non-S-line rear bumper (still appears to be all same color)
*Chrome tips are flat on bottom

Interior
----------
*New steering wheel (an improvement)
*New lighter wood grain ... now with extra grain! (not a fan)
*Even bigger, bulkier shifter... but added chrome to side (really not a fan)
*Chrome on the MMI buttons
*Door trim & arm rests match seats now.

My observations ...

Maybe it's just the awful beige, but I'm not a fan. Biggest like I have are the wheels. Maybe the S-Line version will be better. I'm sure other colors will be better too. Just not a fan of all the bling personally.

All-in-all, very bland update. I suppose we'll see a major overhaul starting with the 2016 Mexican built Q5's.

I also notice upgraded MMI software, temperature control LCDdisplay change and what appears to be a chrome finish between the dials on the cluster. With the exception of the redesigned grill (which also means a slightly different bonnet/hood) everything here could simply be from the options list. If this is reality, and I'm not sure it is, would bode well for existing Q5 owners as such an insignificant facelift would not affect resale on the "old shape".

Those rims look like 20"'s. Can anyone confirm?

I noticed the MMI after my post.

Missed the LCD temp numbers, and missed the grill having a slightly different "edge" shape at the upper part where it meets the hood and bumper. Just enough that 2012 and earlier bumper covers will not fit it. Very subtle change though.

I think it looks less updated and more stuffy myself. Again, better color combos than Beige will do it a world of good. Beige goes with the classy, sophisticated look. I'm in the camp of the sportier the better. That's what's cool about the Q5, you can take the look of the car to either extreme.

Humm, wonder if we can retro fit those new headlights to the ones that we have now.

They look smaller to me. Honestly, I much prefer the look of ours now. Much more agressive looking.

I noticed the new allroad has the same headlights and top shape on its grille. Must be switching all of them

I agree with you. While I like the look of the facelifted Q5, and it looks just as it was described to me many months ago, I am partial to my current 2012 S line Q5, which is why I ordered when I did, even though I was urged to wait for the 2013. The new Q5 looks a little too BMW-ish to me in regards to the lower fascia, especially on the S line version.
