Default carrying a bicycle on a q5 hybrid?

Hi, I'm in need of transporting a bicycle every few weeks with my wife's Q5 and would like first-hand feedback on using the trunk (with folded down rear seats), a roof top bike carrier, or a tow hitch attachment with same.
Thanks,
Ferenc

I regularly carry two bikes (mountain bikes or road bikes) via a tow hitch attachment. My rack will tilt down so I can still open the rear hatch without taking the bikes off. No issues at all.

Trunk would work in a pinch, rooftop could be a pain unless you're tall, so in my opinion, the only truly good option is a trailer hitch mounted rack.

Until you get a fix-it ticket for obscuring the license plate. I did here in Northern Cali with my previous Mazda CX-9. Young Asian motorcycle cop. Still gobsmacked to this day over it.

I load my bike frequently in the back (with back seats folded down). I use a drop cloth on the bottom before putting in the bike. When wife joins me, I use an old blanket between the 2 bikes, and take off the front wheel of the bike that is on top.
One caution: as you load the bike be careful of the top of the bumper. It's easy to get careless and have a "stray" bike pedal ding the bumper.

Interestingly, in Europe, people have brackets to attach their plate to the rack.. Same for those hitch hauler things.

Race = attitude or sense of entitlement.
