I personally don't understand the need for remote start. If you live in a cold climate, you should be accustomed to the cold and toughen up a little. It takes all of 5-10 minutes for most cars (when driving, not idling) to heat up enough to also heat the interior. If you can't deal with those 5-10 minutes, it is time to move South. Same thing goes for heated seats.

When did we Yankees become such pansies... it certainly did not start with the WWII generation.

Used to it? Of course we are.

But think about the crowd you're talking to. Anyone with an Audi clearly has some money to spend. Nothing wrong at all with looking in to options for convenience and comfort to match with the rest of the car. I find this hating quite asinine.

Lots of my friends in neighbors here in Wyoming have crappy F-150s and other pickups with remote starts. I don't think it's unacceptable to want the same.

It's not hating... more along the lines of disappointment that we as a nation are so concerned about comfort and not so much concerned about a little sacrifice or inconvenience in order to save some energy. (Please don't read into this statement that I am a liberal... far from it.)

I do have to admit that the image of all these truck drivers running around in Big Sky country with remote start and heated seats does paint a funny picture... but than so few truck owners actually buy a truck to be used as truck these days.

And you, you never considered swapping your SUV for a compact car in order to save some energy?

Remote starter and alarm can be done on the Audi. Roughly around USD950 to USD1200. It will not disable the Audi's Anti Theft system. For safety reason for the USA. No one is allowed to disable the factory Theft System. It will still be used if the OEM key engages the lock function instead of the aftermarket alarm is engaged. People are afraid of putting alarm and remote starters in an "AUDI" because of its past electrical issues they had. Now Audi has improved a lot on their cars.

USA- Remote starter and Alarm system will give you at least 15% discount on your insurance policy as well.

Of course everything in the world can steal.

I'm not talking about the alarm system, but the system of protection that has every Audi in the world.
Not the same system in the Audi, BMW, Mercedes......
Look at the statistics of stolen cars and compare Audi and BMW or Mercedes

Alarm Yes, but not other system protection.

For your information Audi has a system of protection in four points, others do not
