Thinking about add paint protection film to my new Q5, any recommendations? Is there any full body? I only saw front and rear.

The paint protection film?

I added some to the full hood, door cups, front fenders, door edges, bumpers, side mirrors, and basically the whole front (including headlights and fog lights). It's pretty awesome to be honest. It makes me not half as worried about a scratch.

Xpel seems like the clear leader in the game today.

xpel has this self healing properties which i find pretty cool.

but i end up getting 3m clear bra from a small local shop, strip my one of my car tint at a reasonable price compare to the bigger tint shops around, so i took my Q5 to him

I did full front bumper, hood (up to 22inchs) partial fender, door cups, mirrors. tint match my front windows and tint windshield 50% all for $600

he did quote me full hood full fender about $1000 along w/ tint n stuff i just didn't justify the extra $400 for that part of the hood

what happens 10 years from now when it fades and throws off the color or you want to remove it. I imagine areas not covered by the paint protection would be faded and the paint under the protection would be brand new.

i have heard about it being faded but for me personally i switch out cars every 3/4 years and my last 2 cars didn't have any issues w/ paint fading maybe i got lucky =)

Xpel is self healing but also from what I've seen much less prone to fade.

To be honest, in 10 years you should repaint anyway...you buy a 45-65k car, you are going at least 4 years without payments...repaint it! You could go with a wrap and change the color of it or repaint. That's a small price to pay in a 10 year turn around.

I didn't do the paint protection myself. Everything listed below and the full hood was only $600 but I know the guy very well so he gave me quite a deal. Don't try to do it yourself as it could take a while and you need some experience putting it on to make it look really good. I have bumped into a poll and all I had to do was wipe off the paint protection with a white cloth to get some of it that was white off and it looked brand new still. I find that I rather have it for getting bugs of the front easier, the rocks thrown up off the highway, and basically others. I don't worry too much about me (but I did bump the pole.

I did 30" of the hood at first and then realized I wanted to do the entire hood because you can't see a slight line across the hood. Again, go ahead and do the full hood and you won't regret it.
