2015 Q5 TDI (Prestige) - invoice price question...
Hi there, I am a new member and in the process of negotiating an out-the-door price for (can't wait to have) this 2015 Q5 TDI (Prestige). I have 2 questions:
A) Following are the invoice price numbers I have gathered; I would really appreciate if you could confirm these:
FACTORY INVOICE price:
>2015 Q5 TDI (Prestige) = $51154.00
>Metallic Paint/SCUBA BLUE = $511.00
>Sport Interior PKG = $697.00
>S Line Plus PKG = $1954.00
>Audi Adaptive Damping Suspension = $930.00
B) I am saying I'll pay $500.00 over invoice. But one dealer is adamant on charging me $1000.00 over invoice and the other one $1500.00 over invoice. Neither one are sharing what the invoice price is? so am I correct to pay over and are my invoice price assumptions correct?
Many thanks for your response/s

You can get invoice pricing at edmunds.com
$500 over invoice is a pretty low price. I got nowhere near that with my order.

Not likely
I'm going to agree with Don on the $500 over invoice scenario, especially in CA.

Is MSRP -6% less than the invoice Price?
If so get the supplier program discount or the ACNA membership
If you are not eligible to the supplier program through your employer and you are not ACNA member just get the ACNA lifetime membership ($750) and they will do the -6% off msrp
So it will cost you 1.5% to get 6% off
Now use that level as the start for the negotiation
In the TDI aim to 8% off MSRP plus rebates
Make two dealers to fight for your business
Easy

Invoice is a misleading term. Most manufacturers (don't know about Audi) have incentives that are 'off invoice'..so dealers typically pay the factor less than invoice..

Yes... thats typically called 'Holdback'. I believe that is typically around 3%. There could be other dealer incentives too... Of course they wont talk about those things.

This is really good data. Thanks a lot!
How about "European Delivery" vs. above (invoice + $$) pricing options? do they come out to be about the same (if the airline ticket and hotel costs are covered via miles)?

I just ordered a very similar car in the Toronto area and managed a discount of about 6%. I worked pretty hard with two different dealers and that was the best I could do. $500 over invoice is pretty optimistic for a special order TDI, but good on you if you manage to do it.
