Default 2016 Unitronic Stage 1+ 2.0tfsi

Pulled the trigger on a stage 1+ 93 octane tune for my 2016 2.0. Dealer had to scan ecu and send info to Unitronic and a week later tune was installed. Massive difference over stock. Keeps up with the 3.0 we have without issue. Drove 300 miles yesterday between 70-85 and averaged about 31mpg which is pretty decent.

Do you have full warranty still seeing as how the dealer is involved with the Stage 1 reflash? APR and Audi told me "no warranty" with a Stage 1 on my new SQ5. And at $1200 plus labor I'm kind of glad, ha. But 90hp and lots more torque would be nice.

Most dealers look the other way (at least that has been my experience so far). Just go ahead and do it. Shop around as that price is very high for a flash.

Yep, APR commands a high price based on reputation and marketing. They used to have a sale but rumor has it new ownership has stopped those.

I had a high volume dealership (Bend, Oregon) and a pretty good sized dealer in a neighboring state specifically tell me "we will find out if you reflash the ECM even if you put it back to stock tune, there's an internal diagnostic that tells our service tech..... blahblahblah." That pretty much killed the tune as an option for me.

You're fortunate. Enjoy that extra oomph!

It is funny how some dealers work. We had a forester xt and the dealer sold turbo upgrades etc and performed tuning on their in house Dyno and never had blinked with warranty claims. Not the most ideal policy for the manufacturer but they still did it. The extra power is very very nice. And yes you can always tell if it was flashed back as the program checksum does change every time you flash it. However some techs just aren't concerned with it.
