Aftermarket lug bolts
I just discovered that I will probably also need new lug bolts to mount aftermarket wheels (most of them have conical seat).
Beside seat type, lenght and pitch, is there anything special I must be aware when selected lug bolts? What about material, finish and thing like that? Also, are they usually available with platic caps (like the Audi OEM)?

You can go to the manufacturer and they will have the information you need. Or if the wheels are sold by someone like Tire Rack they also have that info.
I just went through that exercise. I have spacers on my RS4 wheels as they have the wrong offset (ET35 vs what the OEM have ET29) and well as a more narrow wheel. Initially I had use studs and then went with nuts - this makes it easy as you don't have to do all these measurements. But I did not like the look of the studs sticking out of the wheel bolt holes.
What I did was use my OEM wheels (which I have my snow tires on) and measure the amount of length the bolts stuck out from the hub. Then I measured how much the OEM bolts (with the wrong seat) suck out from the wheels so I could determine the length needed. Though the seat was different (ball verses conical) it was close enough.
you can find caps for the wheel bolts - do a google search.

If running different lug screws than OEM, its a good idea to have one set along for your spare that has the round seat and for proper length.
