Default AMI Cable location

My neighbor just bought a 2015 Q5 and can't find the AMI cable location. I haven't had a chance to actually see the vehicle, or her manual yet, so I figured I would just ask here first. I seareched, and while there is quite a bit of AMI information that way, nothing oas simple as where to find the cable and connection. It apperars to be different from my wife's '08 Q7. TIA

The Audi music interface is located in the glove box.

Unless it has changed for MY2015, the AMI cable socket should be in the glove box (some other Audi models have it located under the armrest). An AMI/Apple 30 pin cable should have been provided by the dealer at no charge.

I just picked up my new 2015 Q5. Why do you say the cable should be provided by the dealer at no charge? Is this standard equipment? Do you have a source for this information?

Thanks!

For new cars with an AMI socket, a 30 pin AMI cable has always been included - I received one with my 2009 A4 and 2013 A6. If you have the AMI connection with a new car purchase and the cable is missing, contact your dealer - they owe you one. Note that if you are supplied with the older 30 pin AMI cable and have a newer iPhone with a Lightning connector, you will have to buy a different cable.

I avoid the whole AMI thing with my phone. I have an old 30 pin iPhone that acts like an iPod connected via AMI permanently connected and use my newer iPhone with Bluetooth audio. However, most of my listening is done with the superior sound of SD cards or the Jukebox. Hence, I have found no reason to buy a Lightning AMI cable.

"For $70!! "
eBay or Amazon, $15 will buy you a dozen different types of AMI/MMI cables. And they work just as well.
