Anyone got the cooling pump recall notice yet?
IIRC, AoA had earlier said that as of June 11th they would be sending out notice once they organized a cooling pump recall on some models including a batch of Q5's, with actual parts and procedures to be scheduled beginning in November. Just wondering if anyone had gotten their love letters in the mail yet, or if perhaps AoA as doing a Tesla on their scheduling?

I just received mine here in Canada today. Says there will be a fix for it late in 2018. unless you have your EPC light come on related to the coolant pump then they will replace it right away. this if for my 2016 Q5 2.0T (Komfort) aka expensive base model.
JasonJ this seems to be a recall for the 2.0T only.
Edit: the recall code is 19N4.

Got mine today, same terms as Warhead.
ROFLMAO recall notice. Uh, they were required to send something out. Ugh, if the engine light comes on, see a dealer at no charge. Ugh, they won't know what they're gonna do until the end of this year [read: December 31st, with the latest $1billion+ fines for VWG in Germany, they have to push the budget year]. This doesn't say there will be a FIX this year, just that they will have firm plans before year end.
And oh yeah, park the car outdoors...just in case there's a real fire, but otherwise there's nothing to worry about.
Will someone PLEASE lend me a B17 and enough fuel to reach Ingolstadt....I promise, I'll give you credit on YouTube, and bring it back, or at least land it someplace, in good shape.

We got a notice yesterday for the 2015 Q5. Don't know what it is, haven't opened it yet.

That's a discount coupon for marshmallows and bamboo stakes, so you can enjoy a snack while you're waiting for the fire to go out. (A fire in a water pump...isn't THAT ironic?)
Bob, what makes you think I'm not?
I just can't figure which 60's classic I want.
Although, I keep telling myself that if I'm patient, someday there WILL be a self-driving car, so i can close my eyes and stop trying to play dodgeball.
As Shakespeare didn't quit say, "A pox on all their houses." [sic]

Received the 19N4 recall notice yesterday for our 2014 Q5 2.0L Premium Plus. I located the coolant pump, and check the temperature of the pump using my infrared thermometer after the engine had been running. The temp was essentially cool, not overheated. Until this part is replaced, I plan on monitoring this pump to ensure that it doesn't start "a fire". This makes about six (6) recall notices that we have received for this Q5 since we purchased it new in December 2014. It appears to me VAG is cutting corners (aka cost) in manufacturing these components for their vehicles, and not thoroughly testing them before putting them in the market place.
Based on this experience and A of A not taking full responsibility for all of their design defects (e.g., failed ECMs, failed wheel bearings at low mileage, failed chain tensioners, etc.), I think the Q5 will be our last VAG vehicle, especially since oher manufacturers are offering 10 year/100,000 mile warranties (double what Audi offers) on their new vehicles.
