Default Audi MMI and firmware update?

Hi everyone,

Is there a website where Audi tells us if there are new software updates available for MMI and/or firmware?

The navigation on MMI is really slow and I was wondering if there were any updates which hopefully would fix the problem.

If not, is there anything I can turn off in navigation to make it react faster?
I don't use google earth, just plain navigation, but I didn't turn off any options.

Thanks!

What in particular is slow on the navigation? The slowness I usually see is on start-up, and then trying to find a destination.

New firmware (software) comes with new maps

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi_M...ftware_updates

When you go to the dealer he can check online if there is a software upgrade for your vehicle (not maps)

Ah I see thank you so much for that information. I didn't know it was on wiki.

My car is Audi Q5 2014 3.0T Prestige. I'm not sure what navigation it has, but it's 3G for sure. I don't know what 3G+ is though.

Just curious, how long is it taking everyone's system to boot up? I hate it when I jump into my car and want to search for a destination, however I can't until it fully boots up. I haven't timed it, but if I had to guess it's probably close to 1 minute.

By fully booting up, do you mean including bluetooth and my phone syncing with MMI to take calls on it?

That for me takes little more than a minute I think.
I'm fine with that. I don't have problem with waiting for fully booting up for a minute or so.

I just have problem with buttons lagging, and navigation screen not following the location fast enough. I might try turning off some display options such as restaurants, airports, etc and see if that helps.

I was hoping maybe an SSD would speed up that boot process but I thought I ran across a thread once where someone tried it and it didn't work or the speed didn't change.

You forget that the MMI system, not just for navigation, but much more
-Satellite navigation, including traffic management (TMC)
-Radio tuner
-CD changer
-TV tuner
-Telephone and directory
-Heating, ventilation, air conditioning, climate control, and seat heating
-Car setup (e.g. central locking and convenience function (coming home/leaving home, power sunroof and windows) options, global audio settings, suspension settings etc.)
-Driver information (e.g. fuel economy statistics (often encompassed by "trip computer" functions), battery level, tire-pressure monitoring, etc.)
-User manual (full on-board car user manual, displayed on screen)

It is a complex system is not very all that easy as some think
