Audi Q5 alarm retrofit
Being in the lower group of my retrofit Q5 list, is the OEM alarm. If your Q5 was purchased without this necessary feature same as mine I believe it s possible to perform a retrofit. So I will give it a try.
Note alarm system I believe will use keyless entry antennas too, so if you have keyless entry should be better.
Gathered the main parts but still l need one additional connector for the alarm door switch. Will upload info as retrofit work progresses. Note alarm bracket is for RHD.
Siren:1K0951605C or 1K0951605F (newer)
Siren Bracket LHD: 8T1951285
Siren Bracket RHD: 8T2951285
Bracket nut to siren: N10435507 M8
Bracket nut to car: N90132605 M6 (I used a general purpose M6 nut I had home + washer)
Micro switch Sensor for locking/opening the bonnet was factory installed.
For drivers door alarm on/off switch there are two choices:
1.4E0962109 or 4F0962109 Connector 10pin: 8L0972980 or 8E0971980, Wires: 000979018E/EA 0.5mm
2.4F0962109B, Connector10pin: 6R0972930, Wires: 000979009E/EA 0.5mm (this is newer)

Step 1
Locate siren alarm position and install siren with bracket. I think in North America you already have the siren, as part of the locking chime???? Posting this photo because searching all google and youtube I could not find the siren location. Seems difficult when you have never done it and there are no retrofit wiring harnesses (apart from one listed in the photo) or instructions.

Here in the Colonies, I hadn't heard that we had any "alarm option". Just that whatever makes the locking chirp, chirps a bit more emphatically if the security system gets upset.
Considering that the security system is so crude (1970's technology standards) that it can't even auto-lock the car after I've left it, I wouldn't bother with an Audi system. I'd just add an aftermarket system. And since the 1980's, most of them have had the ability to automatically lock, unlock, send radio pages, send text messages....way more than what Audi of America can conceive of. And inexpensively, too.

Locate siren alarm position and install siren with bracket. We will need 2 bolts. Will amend first post to include the 2 bolt part numbers, now that I know where to look . Wiring options:
1. near the pedals there is a grommet
2. Grommet between brake booster and brake fluid.
3. Inside ecu box.
Actual location of siren: Will try to check if there is a bolt under this box. (this should be for LHD, hope same for RHD). So this is the OEM location for LHD models if you wish to verify the siren existence in North America.
While doing the alarm wiring probably I will do the boost gauge line too.
From H12 Horn/Siren Wiring Diagram (Connector T3e) Prefacelift Q5:
1. T3e Pin 1 (0.35 purple white) - T32c Pin 16 (J393 - Comfort unit in the luggage compartment) (That is a Painful process). I will have to redo this wire because it is short on the harness.
2. T3e Pin 2 (0.5 brown) - Ground (vehicle chassis thus one can use the siren bracket and an O-ring) (easy)
2. T3e Pin 3 (0.5 red white) = Tap joint T4f Pin 4 wire from Alarm Sensor (G578, which will end up in the fuses fuse carrier 3 fuse 12 on fuse holder C Pin 12a) or tap joint the other way around (my preference) in order to complete the siren installation first (easy if you have the harness).
Confirmation diagram:
E284 is the garage door opener switch so will tap alarm yellow violet wire to this connector ditto for the brown wire. Have to find where ST3 SC12 fuse is located.

Alarm sensor installation. 3 wiring connections remaining. Purchased complete part in order to get sensor bracket and connector plug.
Correct Siren Installation Location
ground brown wire connected.
More when I receive wires ordered for the switch and 0.5mm for the siren extension to the boot.. (2 weeks)

Alarm dual switch: Off Switch and Interior Monitor Switch - Will try to do this over the weekend since parts have arrived. Note the information is for prefacelift.
Wire size 0.35mm2
Harness length 115cm (someone can produce this harness now maybe )
Pin 1 Blue - Blue connector T32 pin 10
Pin 2 Red Yellow - Blue connector T32 pin 9
Pin 3 Grey - Blue Connector T32 pin 20
Pin 4 Red Violet - Blue Connector T32 pin 21
Pin 5 Brown (Ground) - Tap to Brown Ground Wire on same harness as T32
Pin 10 Blue Brown - Tap to Blue Brown wire on same harness as T32
Next up: Wiring for the Dome light Alarm Sensor
Fuse terminal type we need (I had the wrong type)

apoelistas just let me say Bravo ! Well documented undertaking of a relatively complex job.Fortunately here in Canada alarm systems are standard on Audis. We must have a lot of crooks Lol.
