2 Adjustment12 Q5 Xenon Headlights
#3
Trying to realign my lights. A couple of weeks ago they went very low on their own. I replaced the bulbs and they are brighter but still aimed too low. How do communicate with the leveling system? When looking at them on the side of a building, they show a distinctive dark area above the low beam.

You need to scan the vehicle with VCDS or equivalent to see if there is a fault with the self leveling. One possibility is a leveling sensor--generally on the suspension arms--has been knocked loose. Could also be a faulty headlight motor, but given it is both I would be looking more on the sensor side. Fuses are another possible, but you would need to research. Scan is best starting point.

" Do all come with self-leveling systems? " to the best of my knowledge the answer is yes Halogen has had it since the late 90's and xenon for sure.In europe even the lowest end cars have had this for eons.

Anything HID/xenon is self leveling from Audi. Required in Europe--as it should be in general given the brightness. Frankly to me only sub par set ups come without it, like the one we had in the Toyota with the manual adjust **** to help make up for the too soft suspension.
