Automotive News: Q5 Hybrid next year?
...and Q7 Hybrid? I know the Q7 Hybrid has been relegated to Audi demo units only, but what about the Q5? Can the Q5 Hybrid be coming the same year as the 3.2L launch?

http://wot.motortrend.com/6244051/auto-news/audi-continuing-to-push-for-american-production-plant/index.html</a

Audi will first offer diesel variants of the Q5 in the U.S. before going hybrid.

good find. this is a complete 180 from what was said a few months ago...
...the Q5 was scheduled to be hybrid first, then TDI for the USA. I guess perhaps customer feedback like mine (I wrote Audi) wanting the 3.0L TDI had an impact?
|
The rumor inside AoA is that the Q5 is going to come to the US. . .
as a TDI hybrid. I know a few of the people at Auburn Hills.
|
I don't see how they can without an MSRP of $55k-$60k....
way too much dinero for this segment.
|
How, maybe by sourcing and building in the US. . .
The annoucement for Audi North America production will be made public shortly according to sources from within AoA. They're down to the three sites, one which will surprise us all if chosen.
