Default Help with Fog and Headlamps bulbs

Hello forum, I知 new to Audi, I just bought a few months ago a 2012 Q5 and I am in love! This is my first time posting but had read a lot here, this is such a great community with lots and lots of helpful information.
I知 looking to upgrade my headlamps and fog light bulbs and these are my questions:
Headlights: my car has HID, I want to upgrade to 6000k so I can get the CLEAR WHITE color.
  • Is there any place where I can buy the OEM replacement (I guess it is Philips) in 6000k? I want to avoid the cheap 20 buck HID pair in Amazon
  • I found some LED kits saying that they are a direct replacement por D3S; it is ok to just plug and play the LED bulbs? I mean, using the Audi痴 ballast? Will the car send me an error message?
Fog Lights:
  • They are not HID, right?
  • Any suggestions for a 6000k color in Xenon or LED?
Thank you in advance,

I don't think you really need to upgrade the headlamps. I replaced my fogs with Philip LED modules and the color of the headlights and fogs are identical.

Others are using the deAutoLED fog modules and are very happy.

I did the philips led fog and they match the stock hid exactly. Fwiw I read a while back 6000k is actually less light output than stock 4300k but to each his own.

6k and 4300k color temperatures will not have anything to do with the lumen rating/brightness, we offer a 6k at 9000 lumens that are are insanely bright, some might say that 4300k is easier to see vs 6k but we feel it is preference, many won't notice any reduction in visibility with our 6k when you have so much extra light - listing can be found here:
LED Headlight/Fog CREE LED Bulb with Ballast - 9000 total lumens | deAutoKey

On off example of our 6k fogs - these are no joke and very bright:

I didn't change my headlight bulbs, but put H11's in as fog replacements. I went with amber, but the whites match identical to the headlights if that's your preference.
