Basic Tech Questions
I'm looking at 2011 2.0 and the salesperson didn't know much about the tech.
1.) Does the Q5 2.0 have traffic reports and the ability to give you new directions based on traffic conditions?
2.) If so, is this based on a subscription to Sirius XM or is it independent of that?
3.) Can everything technology wise be done for the most part via voice commands?
Thanks in advance.

You'll need the Navigation package to get live traffic updates. On rerouting, yes, if the nav determines that an alternate route is better than the traffic jam on your given route, then it will do so. This is based on a Sirius subscription.
Most navigation options can be controlled via voice, including entering addresses, but don't control other tech items like the sound system. You can also call contacts on your phone by speaking their name, if you get the Bluetooth option.

1. Do you have to subscribe to Sirius to get the traffic updates or is it done some other way?
2. Does the navigation have an address book to store people's addresses in it? Is it linked to the phone book?
Thank you.

1. No, the traffic advisories are a component of the GPS-Nav, not the Sirius radio.
2. Your smartphone address book is utilized. It is an MMI Bluetooth function, not a Nav.

There's a couple of threads on here discussing that. I think some folks got it for around 77 bucks a year. If you can find the thread they say what number to call and the options to pick or what to say to get the deal.
