What exactly is the traffic option supposed to do?

Sirius Traffic is suppose to give updates/headsup info on construction, delays, accidents etc. I am on the trial subcription at the moment(have had the Q5 7 weeks). Traffic used to work but gave me info 150 to 200 miles away, then it just quit.8 or 9 calls later to Sirius I got no where. They reset the "Master Switch" but that didn't work. No one at Sirius seems to have a clue.

As others have mentioned...just cancel and wait about 3 weeks.

You'll get a few calls with standard 50% off stuff. Eventually, they will give you the 6 month option for like 70% off. It was the 3rd call and about 3 weeks after cancelling that they called with the better deal.

Mine was just north of $30 for 6 months after you include all the extra fees and licensing stuff.

This is the second time I have cancelled and waited for better deals. They won't give the 70% on 1 year deals though so you have to play the cancel game. (Thank you Outlook Calendar!)

I heard Sirius has some free channels until September 11th. Visit their website for details.

Not too bad since I thought I'd have to pay $15 just to combine the accounts (which I didn't)
Called them today to cancel the remaining 3 months on the 2011 I just traded in and move it over to the 2013 3.0T P+ I just picked up. With the 3 free months that came with the car and the 3 I had left, I figured it would give me another 6 months. I paid about $95 for a year on the 2011. They told me they could not transfer the remaining 3 months to the new car but I could use the pro-rated $20.95 "credit" towards a new one year subscription after the free 3 months was up. They wanted $199.99 for the new 1 year subscription so I told them to forget it. They really pushed hard to get me to sign up right now. So, I just lost 3 months of service I already paid for and now have a "store credit" being held hostage until I sign a new 1 year agreement. What a crock! I guess I'll use my 3 free months and let it expire. Hopefully they'll come back with a more reasonable offer and I'll be able to get the last 3 months of my paid subscription back. These guys are the best!

When in Nav - hit the info button (at least on our 2011 Q) and if active it will show traffic issues around you...
if inactive it will ask you to call them to subscribe...

more to it than that like:
it interfaces with navigation routing,
warms of issues ahead,
etc...

When I push INFO, it just says "Traffic information is unavailable" or something to that effect. After reading forums it seems that you cannot get traffic with a Canadian subscription, and cannot get an American subscription without an American address and credit card, and cannot get traffic without paying for satellite radio also. This is a Sirius pain in my ***. I want my traffic to work.

Anyone have a canadian solution? It would be Siriusly appreciated.

Wait until it expires and then call and get 6 months for $25+.
