Do you have a trailer hitch? If so, Thule makes a good one.

X2. One Up makes a fantastic rack. Much better than all of the Yakimas and Thule I have. You can buy a single that converts to a double so when you only need to carry one bike (as I do 90% of the time) you can access the back cargo area without fiddling with the rack. If you have a friend going, put on the extension in 20 seconds and you can carry two.

Kuat is very good as well but all of my friends who own Kuat really like mine.

That's the key question OP needs to answer. If no hitch, these recs won't be of much value.

I have a 1-UP hitch mount as well. Very solid, and happy with it (although it doesn't get a huge amount of use). Bear in mind it's pretty heavy - I have the two-bike version and it takes some strength to get it in.
