Mine will lag on occasion. I've only ever had one instance with an old Samsung GSI phone where it locked up the MMI.
If it ever does get that bad you can restart it on your own, or if you turn off the car for about 30 min, it will fix itself.
My biggest complaint on the phone issue is my call waiting option. When I'm connected to a call and a second call comes in, it pops up with the options of ignoring or swapping to the other caller. When I swap to the other caller it hangs up on both callers. It has done this with a Samsung, HTC, and now my current LG Optimus G. So it's the Audi software, not my phone. So I just have to live without it I guess. It's done it since I bought the car. I usually just hang up on everybody, then try calling the person back that was calling me.
