(A) button?

I know in other cars, the "A" button right below the parking brake button is for "Automatic Hold". If you press it while you are stopped at a stop light, you can let your foot off the brake while you are stopped and it will hold the car until you press the gas. Not sure if that is what the button is for on Audi, but the placement of the button seems correct.

My neighbours Tiguan has the feature mentioned above. We were wondering why my Q5 didn't have this option. Guess I don't have the right kind of Q5...

The Q5 does this automatically. Try stopping on a steep hill, depress the brake pedal and let go. The car stays perfectly still untill you are ready to drive off again.

On NA Q5 you don't need it as on lights just activate the hand brake. Once green, step on the gas and it will automatically release the hand brake. I have done it few times and gives kinda nice launch
Like DrV said, hill assist is also automatic as every time when I park to incline/slope I can feel the brakes releasing once I press the gas after I move my feet from brake pedal to gas pedal.
