Default (A) button?

My 2010 Q5 Prestige has an (A) button right below the parking button. It's not in the manual and the dealer has no idea what it's for. Anyone know?

I know in other cars, the "A" button right below the parking brake button is for "Automatic Hold". If you press it while you are stopped at a stop light, you can let your foot off the brake while you are stopped and it will hold the car until you press the gas. Not sure if that is what the button is for on Audi, but the placement of the button seems correct.

My neighbours Tiguan has the feature mentioned above. We were wondering why my Q5 didn't have this option. Guess I don't have the right kind of Q5...

it is the Hill Hold option, the cheapest one on the list, but not the least
I have it and it is really practical
it should be standard...

The Q5 does this automatically. Try stopping on a steep hill, depress the brake pedal and let go. The car stays perfectly still untill you are ready to drive off again.

On NA Q5 you don't need it as on lights just activate the hand brake. Once green, step on the gas and it will automatically release the hand brake. I have done it few times and gives kinda nice launch

Like DrV said, hill assist is also automatic as every time when I park to incline/slope I can feel the brakes releasing once I press the gas after I move my feet from brake pedal to gas pedal.

Not sure it's hill assist...as I have another button for that. Here's a picture of the (A) button. Have not got it to activate/light up yet.
