Please Help Me Decide on this Audi Q5
Ok, looking at a 2012 Audi Q5 with 129,xxx miles on it. It has the 2.0T TFI engine in it. The Dealer is asking $9900. Vehicle is super clean and has a great maintenance record via CarFax.
However, it does have Timing Chain noise and was missing on my Test drive. The Dealer offered to have it all fixed.
Carfax also shows a History of a front end collision. Air bags not deployed and no structural damage. The vehicle is very tight still and handles very well. No evidence of being in an accident that I could detect.
My research shows the 2.0T TFI has several potential issues. This is what has me a bit worried about getting this car.
What say you ? What do I need to be on the lookout for.
TIA

If the deal offers to redo the timing chain I would not be that concerned.
Try to ask at the Q5 forum, this forum is for the Audi C5 based Allroad which have either 6 or 8 cylinder engines.

There are other threads here about the importance of servicing the timing chain on the older models. Other members may be able to steer you toward additional areas to watch. I wouldn't be concerned about the crash if it was awhile ago and all panels and paint look correct.

Where are you from? Here in NJ, it looks like 2011/12 with similar miles are in the 12-13k range. I would say 10k is a good deal, but would ask the dealer to perform the timing chain repair.
