Don't know if it was me, but I have the FreedomPop Global SIM (just checked to make sure) in our 2013 Q7 Prestige S-Line. Been working fine since Oct 2016 on the updated 3G modem... I don't use the WiFi, so 200MB is fine.

I do not have an updated modem (that I'm aware of and I doubt Audi service would have upgraded me without telling me about it).

My understanding is that the older FreedomPop Global GSM card is no longer available. The new 4G LTE GSM SIM card only connects to AT&T, and AT&T has shut down 2G. So if you have a MY 2012-2013 with the older modem, you can't connect to anything with the new FreedomPop SIM card.

This is to share my finding that can help others. We have a 2015 Q5 TDI that came with T-Mobile.
Today I called Audi Connect (888-545-9434). When I reached the T-Mobile option (3) the cost is $25/moth, a yearly program (about $200) and another for 3 (under $400). I then pressed 2 which bought me tATT option.
They agreed to mail me a SIM card for free and instructed me to go to dealer to get my MMI updated for ATT. The cost for service would be $10/month if minutes are shared with cell phone or $20/month for unlimited.
Following their instructions, I then went to dealer who did not know about this but agreed to make appointment to update our software at no cost.
Will report back back when it's all installed.
