Default Cheers to Bob.

Just over a week ago a family member(my sis) was at a loss of what to do with her engine issues. The insurance company put it on her to prove or disprove what happened with the engine, choosing not to believe or consider the mechanics/shop advice.

Bob came through explaining the likely issues and educating me on the subject enough to discuss with the insurance company and the mechanic at length what the likely problem was.

Today they agreed to provide an Audi remanufactured engine for the vehicle.

Thank you Bob.

We always like success stories on AW! Glad it worked out for you and your sister, for awhile it wasn't going in the correct direction. Is that a complete engine, or just the bare block with pistons and rings, etc. Or will you also get a new timing chain and chain tensioner?

I'm glad you asked. So when the engine was approved I said to the mechanic..."Hey, I have a list I'd like to send you of parts I would like replaced that my sister will pay for."

His reply was:

"All of that will be replaced with new parts with this engine."

Boom.

Thank you.

Hey that's a great story and if they acted this way more often they'd have a bigger fan club.
Yes Bob certainly puts in some good solid work around this place. He's saved quite few people some serious coin.

That's even better now!

I know that originally it was probably heartbreaking for her to have this failure, but she actually is going to have a better engine than what came out of the factory, and the Q5 will now go an additional 50K+++ more miles
